How to store a cream cheese frosted cake so it stays perfect
Most of our cakes wear cream cheese frosting, and cream cheese likes the cold. Here is how to keep yours as good on day three as it was on day one.
Refrigerate, but cover it
Keep the cake in the fridge in a cake carrier or loosely tented with plastic wrap. Uncovered cake picks up fridge smells and dries out at the cut edge.
Let it breathe before serving
Take it out about 30 minutes before you slice. The frosting softens and the flavor comes back to life.
